Wisconsin United to Amend

On April 4, nine communities in Wisconsin will be voting on referendums to amend the U.S. Constitution to overturn Citizens United and to proclaim that corporations aren’t persons and money isn’t speech.

You may not have heard about this referendum effort because the media hasn’t done a good job of reporting on it.

But here in Wisconsin, 97 communities have already gone on record, by overwhelming margins, that they want to see the U.S. Constitution amended in this way. That makes Wisconsin second only to Massachusetts in the number of communities that have done so.

If you live in one of the following nine places, please vote in favor of these referendums so we can have real democracy in America:

Blue Mounds (village)

Blue Mounds (town)

Caledonia

Crystal Lake

Fox Crossing

Jordan

Monona

Neshkora

Racine

The group that’s been doing the terrific organizing on these referendums is Wisconsin United to Amend. And the person to contact about getting a referendum for your village, town, city, or county is George Penn at (608) 244-6436 or geo_penn@charter.net.
