Senator Roth was first elected to the Assembly in 2006, did not run for reelection in 2010 and was first elected to the Senate in 2014.

He was unopposed in the primary and faced Democratic opposition in the general election.

NRA Political Victory Fund ($650), Wisconsin REALTORS Political Fund - 1.91 Account ($149,750) and Wisconsin Right to Life PAC ($455) made independent expenditures favoring Senator Roth.
