OathSpending

This corporation was created by Virginia-based group to support Republican candidates for statewide office and the legislature in Wisconsin elections. The Republican State Leadership Committee supports Republican candidates for state offices around the country.  Since the 2010 fall elections, the organization has spent an estimated $2.4 million on independent expenditures and phony issue ads in Wisconsin elections.

The group released a 60-second YouTube video – here via WisPolitics.com – about two weeks before the November 4 general elections praising incumbent GOP Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch for her efforts to promote job creation.  The corporation did not file required paperwork with the state Government Accountability Board that identified Kleefisch or any other candidates it intended to support or oppose with independent expenditures.

Last active election: 2012

This organization is registered with the Government Accountability Board as an independent disbursement committee following the January 2010 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. FEC.
